The Laredo Independent School District had a day of remembrance to honor all fallen war heroes, Prisoners of War (POW), and Missing in Action (MIA).
Memorial Middle School students and the Martin High School ROTC participated in a Roll Call of all fallen American Heroes, from the Laredo area, POW, and MIA, followed by the playing of “TAPS” by retired LISD music teacher Bobby Lopez.
The Webb County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard conducted a 21 Gun Salute. A wreath was placed in memory of the fallen soldiers. Also, a commemorative plaque was unveiled remembering six brave young men who attended St. Joseph’s Academy, joined the military, and made the ultimate sacrifice.
Major Robert Kibbe, Assistant Profession of Military Science at Texas A&M University at Kingsville was the guest speaker.

Return Dates: May 19–21, 2025. Devices will be collected by tech staff.
